El Diablo - JeNo 3.5" Multiplate Sub-250

This is my first time posting here.
The hunt began when I'm not happy with my previous 3.5" frame (Flyfish VX3.5) because of the props in view and really holding my mentality to full send a quad because I'm afraid of breaking something from the frame and have to wait for weeks just to get the spare parts to arrived.
I Found JeNo 3.5" frame - and everything changed completely...

Spend nearly 6 months just to learn CAD & really understanding how to cut the frame - but in the end, this frame allowed me to customized it the way I needed it to be.
I named it El Diablo - based on MotoGP racer Fabio Quartararo (to complete the "French" reference😅)

Printables Page: https://www.printables.com/model/1538007-jeno-35-dkz-version

Youtube (Build Processed & Flight Sample):

  • Moved the back stand off by 2mm because in the original file it's interfering with the middle plate and arms.
  • Redesign all the 3D TPU Pack to better follows the frame
  • Using only 3mm Thick arms and 2mm on all other parts.

At first, I didn't have much expectation when it comes to sustainability - but despite my horrible flying skill, I've only break 2 arms so far. (more to come surely)

but this build really checked all the boxes that I need, so I thought I shared it here.

There's 3 different set up that I come up with GNB 650mAh Battery and FULLY WATERPROOFED😁:

  1. The Base Set Up: 244.17gr AUW
  2. The NaVi Set Up: 248.74gr AUW
  3. El Diablo Set Up: 250.96gr AUW (My preference)

I Do need to mention to that I have an external BEC on my AIO - because it was dead😅

You can also found this build on Youtube, will be appreciated if you guys enjoyed it!!

Now I can't helped myself to build the 5" version😂

Hey man!

I saw your vidéo yesterday and really liked it, can't wait to see what you'll surprise us with next 📈
The story telling is as good as your vidéo editing and your build looks sick 🔥

Thanks for stopping by 🇫🇷

Personally, I went with the original because, unless I'm mistaken, it's more robust; I'll take a look.😉

Hello, so after reading the "Fit 5" and the "low profile" version, the torso is shorter. @JeromeHe'll tell you more.🙂

Hi @dkzfpv,

As I told you on Printables, thank you for sharing your remix with the communtity and for taking the time to post here 🙂 The video is great !

Don’t hesitate to try the unibody version one day. With its 4 mm bottom plate thickness, this thing is a tank. I’ve had two of them for two and a half years, and I’ve never broken a part, even in bandos. It really changed our view on unibody designs 🙂

But, One question - Should I go with the Original JeNo 5.1 or the Jeno 5.1 Fit?
There's only one goal for my 5-inch build....Bando Bashing.
Any suggestion will be very much appreciated!!

If you choose the JeNo Classic, just make sure to use the bando arms and the thickened bottom/top plates. What I love about the JeNo Classic is that you have plenty of room for an easy build, as well as easy maintenance.

The Fit is based on the JeNo Classic bando, with a lower profile and a shorter body. It probably makes it a bit more sturdy, but the build and maintenance are also slightly more difficult because of the low profile.

No bad choice here, just different advantages 🙂

@JeromeAhhh that's interesting..
There's only one mission for the upcoming 5"...which is BANDO, BANDO, BANDOOOO!! 😂

I'd like to make my life harder - JeNo Fit seems very sexy tho...😅

@Jerome I Didn't mention it in video...to cut the unibody version is actually pricier than the multi-plate version in my place, I Don't know why - and didn't ask anything.
Do you guys also have the same issue about pricing different on cutting different version?

I didn’t ask for pricing for the multi-plate version. The unibody might be slightly more expensive because more carbon is wasted, whereas with the multi-plate version, the cutting service can nest all the parts closer together. The unibody is also a full 4 mm thickness. However, I don’t expect the price difference to be so significant.
