Dear WAF community,

I have recently built two JeNo 5.1 (built post coming soon). I like them a lot!

But I came across a problem and confusion while looking for 3D prints.

The Github (english) page says (quote):  https://github.com/WE-are-FPV/JeNo-5.1?tab=readme-ov-file#changelog

Citation

"Compatibility is consistently maintained between each version: if your frame was a v1, the parts from v1.2 will be compatible. The same applies to TPU accessories."

Either I am doing something wrong or this is not true. The top camera plate spacer is in a different place. Therefor all 3D prints made for previous JeNo frame versions that rely on that spacer (like fins and action camera mounts) do NOT fit anymore.

For example the Jeno classic 25° fin doesn't fit. I made my own and shared stl and step files here:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7132211

https://www.printables.com/model/1485028-jeno-51-fin-aileron

I asked T4 (Tim o Brian) on his doscord if he has his action cam designs adopted to the JeNo frame and he told me how frustrated he was by the changing patterns that are not recognizable from the frame version. He has several bases and would like some clarification how to call them.

The Discord post is here: https://discord.com/channels/955984228439441428/1432369904882811032

Can you please help clarify that and help T4 having proper bases and naming convention for his prints?

Thank you for your help!

Happy Flying!

Hello,

Your are right, this part should have been removed since we added a complete explanation about our versioning :

What had really been a pain in the ass was the arrival of the DJI O4 Pro. To support the new camera, we had to modify the camera plates, which changed the position of the camera-plate standoffs. That’s why we specified in the changelog that both the camera plates and the TPU were updated (and also why we added the explanation about versioning) :

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but supporting the DJI O4 Pro was mandatory and we had no other choice. Trust me, we would have preferred to change nothing 😉

Since version 1.5.1, we have adopted the current camera plates, which are compatible with all cameras, including the O4 Pro.

@saturn_fpv To be a bit more precise, he can rely on the version number. Since the revision number has zero impact, he only needs to pay attention to the first two digits. Versions 1.5 and higher use the new O4 Pro compatible camera plates, while versions 1.4 and lower use the old O3 camera plates. (Of course, the latest 1.5 camera plates are also compatible with the O3 and all other cameras.)
